North Dakota Stockmen’s Association announces 2016 Spring Roundup schedule
 
 
The North Dakota Stockmen’s Association (NDSA) is hosting the 2016 Spring Roundup series, “Protecting the Investment,” June 1-3 and 6-8 in Amidon, N.D.; Montpelier, N.D.; Devils Lake, N.D.; Wildrose, N.D.; St. Anthony, N.D.; and Menoken, N.D.
 
“Through the Association’s policy, advocacy and inspection efforts, the NDSA works every day to protect producers’ investments,” NDSA President Steve Brooks said. “The Spring Roundups give producers the opportunity to hear more about the NDSA’s efforts to protect and promote our industry and offer feedback to make it and the organization stronger.”
 
Each Spring Roundup will include a social, supper and short program featuring policy updates from Brooks.
 
District Nominating Committees will meet at the close of each Spring Roundup. There, committee members will identify candidates for the NDSA’s open director positions. Each Roundup will also feature a local brand inspectors meeting at 5 p.m.
 
The 2016 Spring Roundup schedule is as follows:
 
District 1
The District 1 Spring Roundup will be held June 3 at the Ranch Steakhouse in Devils Lake, N.D. The social begins at 5:30 p.m. CT, with supper at 6:30 p.m. CT and the program following. Jesse Vollmer, DVM, of Sheridan Animal Hospital will also be a presenter, discussing Johne’s Disease and other animal health issues. NDSA Director Levi Rue is chairing the meeting.
 
District 2
The District 2 Spring Roundup will be held June 2 at the C-B Charolais Sale Facility near Montpelier, N.D., located 7 1/2 miles west of the junction of Highways 281 and 46 and 3/4-mile north. The social begins at 5:30 p.m. CT, with supper at 6:30 p.m. CT and the program following. Gerald Stokka, DVM, NDSU Extension veterinarian and livestock stewardship specialist, will discuss the Veterinary Feed Directive. NDSA Director Curtis Brown is chairing the meeting.
 
District 3
The District 3 Spring Roundup will be held June 8 at Menoken Farm near Menoken, N.D. The social begins at 5:30 p.m. CT, with supper at 6:30 p.m. CT and the program following. Josh Dukart, North Dakota Grazing Lands Coalition coordinator and field representative, will be a presenter, discussing grassland management and soil health. NDSA Director Darrell D. Oswald is chairing the meeting.
 
District 4
The District 4 Spring Roundup will be held June 7 at the Verein Hall in St. Anthony, N.D. The social begins at 5:30 p.m. CT, with supper at 6:30 p.m. CT and the program following. Dukart will also be speaking here. NDSA Director Jonathan Marohl is chairing the meeting.
 
District 5
The District 5 Spring Roundup will be held June 1 at the Slope County Fairgrounds in Amidon, N.D. The social begins at 5:30 p.m. MT, with supper at 6:30 p.m. MT and the program following. Stokka will also be speaking. NDSA Director Wayne Gerbig is chairing the meeting.
 
District 6
The District 6 Spring Roundup will be held June 6 at the Wildrose Fire Hall in Wildrose, N.D. The social begins at 5:30 p.m. MT, with supper at 6:30 p.m. MT and the program following. NDSA Director Dennis Jacobson is chairing the meeting.
