The North Dakota Stockmen's Association (NDSA) prides itself on being a grassroots organization, where every member has a voice in the decisions and policy making of the association.
NDSA policy recommendations can be initiated or recommended by NDSA members to the appropriate committee for consideration and must be considered by that committee at the annual convention.
No policy recommendations will be considered directly from the floor unless they have properly been presented in a committee first.
If the policy receives a favorable vote, it is then referred to the Resolutions Committee, which can either approve, table, defeat or amend the recommendation.
Policy meetings are held Friday afternoon at the convention and policy will be voted on at the closing session the following day.
The membership will vote on the resolution at the closing session of the convention. A resolution may be amended by the membership if the amendment does not change the intent. The amended resolution must be approved by the membership.
